I am a native Estonian freelance translator with a strong interest in linguistics and with the academic background of mechanical engineering and management. I work with English, Russian, Finnish, and German.
I have over 10 years' experience with translation in different fields of activity: technical (incl. medical equipment, mechanics, and petrochemicals), IT (software, website, and UI localization), marketing, retail, entertainment, tourism and more.
I'm a freelance translator for Estonian/English and I have had more than 14 years of formal English education including English courses at the Tallinn University of Technology. I have worked in an English-speaking environment for a long time and as a freelance translator for the past 11 years, providing native level translations to and from Estonian. My translations are 50/50 into Estonian and English (also from Finnish) alike and I also provide editing/QA services.
I have processed a wide range of technical manuals (for example for Caterpillar, Hyundai, Toyota, Ford, Ducati, Konecranes, Samsung, KitchenAid, LG, HP, GE Healthcare etc.) and have excellent experience also with legal documents (EU, Estonian and Finnish legislation, court documents, forensic materials, contracts, patents) product medical device manuals, information sheets, medical research files, PILs and various other topics.
I am English-Estonian-English translator and proofreader with over 10 years of experience
in fields including pharmaceuticals (SPC, PIL, for such clients as Merck, Novartis), medical histories, prescriptions, manuals for medical devices (e.g. for Medtronic, Zimmer, Kimberly Clarke), technology (e.g. Hilti, Olympus, Samsung), and business (Procter & Gamble, Eurofish, European parliament tender). My defining characteristics are professional working experience in related fields, personalized approach, and impeccable attention to quality in slightest details.
I translate and revise (EN) academic work – articles, abstracts, papers – on different topics. I have mostly revised different level theses in English, eg about smart textiles of biotechnology, but also linguistics, which is my own main area. This is what I do best. I always work in close cooperation with the author to make sure the text will meet their needs.
I'm in translation business since 2007. Main fields: everything about technology (from small devices to big agricultural machinery, from mobile apps to operating systems). Also I work a lot with fashion industry and fintech sector.

I have worked as a freelance translator-subtitler since 2007, translating technical texts (legal, medical, websites, articles, etc.) and a countless number of movies, documentaries and TV series. I am flexible, reliable and easy to work with. I can work fast without compromising the quality of my work - I always double, triple and quadruple check finished work, I always do a thorough research to make sure all the facts are correct, and I never forget spell-check. I aim for perfection, no matter how small or big the job, because I take pride in what I do. I dedicate all my energy and attention to a project to ensure it meets the deadline and satisfies the customer.
I am always open to long-term partnerships and offers. I don't currently own any CAT tools, but I do have experience with SDLX 2007, SDL Trados Studio 2009, Xliff Translator and MemoQ. Even if I am unfamiliar with a specific software it takes me little time to master it.
I have been working as a freelance translator since 2004.
Main working areas:
- Technical and IT: mostly user manuals and MSDSs, also UI texts and software localization
- Medical: manuals for medical equipment, general pharmaceutical texts, EMA templates.
- Marketing: brand manuals, brochures, ads
I use Trados Studio 2011 and MemoQ 2014
I've been a successful freelance English-Estonian translator/editor since 2007. I mainly work with Marketing, IT, Technical, and European Union texts, though I often broaden my horizons outside those areas as well. In addition to technical texts, I've also translated several books and won an Estonian translation award.
I like to keep up with current language trends by attending relevant in-service training programs and conferences whenever my schedule allows it. Over the years, several CAT-tools (mainly Trados and memoQ, though I'm proficient with many others) have helped me provide consistent and flawless results. Clients and colleagues describe my work as always on time, accurate, and carried out according to your instructions.
